I used just regular sharpie markers, not the paint ones. I did use a couple layers of clear coat to seal the artwork, but I actually left it on for almost a year before doing that. Sharpies last through weather pretty well!
How durable have you found the sharpie ink on your cars paint?!? I would LOVE to do this but I would be worried that the ink would chip/scratch too quickly...

i was going to ask the same, you used just regular sharpies, no clear coat/seal on the art work ? The sharpie paint markers work REALLY well for this

They're pretty durable although I do recommend clear-coating it. Winter weather does a little bit of damage otherwise.
